Gender-sensitive approaches are of crucial importance in all medical disciplines in order to optimize the quality of care for all patients. Particularly in areas such as surgery, where the topic has been insufficiently researched to date, there is a considerable need to catch up. For this reason, I am all the more looking forward to the upcoming conference and the interesting presentations, which will provide valuable insights into this important topic.
